Review: Dangan Ronpa

dangan ronpaIn Dangan Ronpa a group of highschool students are forced to compete in an evil game where the only escape is murder. Sound familiar? Dangan Ronpa isn’t even the only ‘Battle Royale’ esque story I’ve reviewed this week, but it certainly has more than enough originality underneath it’s familiar surface. In fact, it’s borrowed elements are all executed perfectly, and Dangan Ronpa is so good that it largely exceeds that which it takes influence from.

10 PSP Games Still Worth Playing

titleThe PSP has been around for nearly 10 years, and has an incredibly varied library of games. Unfortunately, finding the good ones can at times feel like wading through a big pile of garbage, and by garbage I mean a big pile of rushed PS2 ports that are even worse now than when they first came out. But underneath there are some great RPGs, a few hidden classics, and other forgotten games that are still well worth playing. Last week I picked up a PSP Go and since then I’ve been hunting down the classics, now I present you with ten whole games that are still great fun to play today.

This Week’s Purchase: PSP Go

titleWhen the PSP Go first came out in 2009 a lot of people (myself included) didn’t take the console too seriously. In fact, its lack of UMD tray and reliance on the PSN meant I had little interest in what is now dark horse of the PSP family. But a few years later I’ve decided to give it a go (awesome pun intended), and for £50 picked one up, boxed in good condition. Today I’m going to look at the pros and cons of the system, and ask if in 2013 this shiny misfit of a PSP is now an underrated classic?
